Skiing in Lungau:
Best snow & clearest mountainair
All in all there are 4 skiing resorts between the Katschberg and Obertauern in the region of Lungau. About 300 kilometers prepared slopes and deep snow slopes give skiiers and snowboarder the opportunity for a perfect skiing adventure: lively descents up to 9 km of length and wild for wild variantdrivers and smooth mountainsides for a family adventure. Beginners, amateurs as well as professionals - we provide a slope for everyone. Additional, halfpipes, snowparks and "childrenpalaces" are available.
We don't know waiting cues at the 61 modern lift systems. Two new cablecars provide additional comfort. (see below).
For a traditional break and a proper Après-Ski party you are welcomed guests at more than 50 cottages, as well as restaurants and discos offside slopes.
The 4 "S" of the Wastlwirt
The Wastlwirt **** Romantik Hotel & Spa connects a attractive location in the center of the town with short ways to the 4 skiing resorts in Lungau (see map below). To the unique ambiance and the pleasure pension we can add the broad "4-S-Service".
skiing rental service: In the in-house sports shop you can rent the newest skis, skiing shoes and stiks or you have the opportunity to repair or maintain your private equipment.
skiing school: for adults and children (inclusive shuttle bus and daycare) in house.
skiing storage room: heated and secured drying room for your skiing- and sportequipment
Shuttle: the shuttlestop is located directly in front of the hotel. Normally every 30 minutes to all 4 skiing resorts. The fee is included in both skipasses included.

Katschberg-Aineck (1066 - 2200 m):
Our homemountain south
of St. Michael: approx. 70km slopes of all difficulties (100% artificial
snowed), 16 lifts, carinthian seal of approval, 17 cottages, longest slope: "A1"
with 6km length from the peak of the Aineck down to St. Margarethen in the
valley.

m):
Our homemountain north of St. Michael:
approx. 33km slopes of all difficulties (100% possibilty for artificial snow),
longest descent: from 2400m altitude down to St. Michael, 11 lifts, 8 cottages.
The slope to St. Michael is 9 km long.

night skiing, numerous cottages and restaurants. snow

Two new cable cars for the start of the new season
Two new 8 seated cable cars are going into operation in the skiing resorts Katschberg/Aineck and Großeck/Speiereck in december. Additional two are still running since some years and a fifth one is already planned. the map below shows an overview of the skiing resorts of the lungau including the new lifts.
skiing resort Katschberg/Aineck:
"Silverjet2" (red line) replace two drag lifts starting from december 2011. The hop-in station is already planned as a middle-station for the planned cable car down to St. Margarethen (blue line). The 8 seated cable car "Silverjet2" overcomes an altitude of 520 meters within 7 minutes.
Since a few years the cable car "silverjet 1" to the peak of Aineck is in operation (green line).
skiing regions Grosseck-Speiereck
"sunnyside cable car" is the name of the new cable car starting from St. Michael up to the skiing region "Spereck/Großeck. (red/yellow line). She covers an altitude of 820 meter and replaces the old doubleseated lift. Starting from december 2011 the 60 sunny-yellow, 8 seated cabins reduce the driving time from 20 minutes down to 7 minutes. Up to 2000 persons can be served per hour.
Since a few years the 8 seated cable car "Großeckbahn" is operated starting from the skiing centrum of Mauterndorf (black-yellow line).
