Cycling in the Lungau: Pleasure and sporting challenge
The holiday region Lungau offers plain to slightly hilly cycle routes for pleasure cyclists, interesting terrain routes for demanding cyclists and challenging areas of terrain for mountain biker on a well-prepared and signposted network of cycle paths which is over 500 kilometres. It leads comfortably along streams and through forests, via cycle routes and away from roads through idyllic countryside, high up in the mountains and in the romantic side valleys of the Salzburg Alps. Many routes - such as the Mur cycle path - are suitable for family trips with children.
With the e-bike over the mountains
Currently, the Lungau distinguishes itself as the"region with the highest rate of e-bikes in Austria". The Pedelecs can be borrowed. Although they are driven by muscle power, an electric motorprovides strong support if it goes uphill or if the headwind is too strong. A network of charging stations at atltitudes of 2000 metres enables "refuelling" at any time. Our reception team is happy to inform you about further details.
In many outdoor restaurants, in guest houses and on Alpine meadows cyclists, e-bikers and mountain bikers can refresh and spoil themselves with culinary delights from the Lungau pleasure region.

Bike rental and repair shops
You can bring your own bike or rent a good bike. The holiday region of Lungau additionally offers the service of qualified dealers and workshops as well as maps in best quality. And if you would like to save long arrivals and departures, Murtal rail, post buses, Austrian Federal Railways (ÖBB) and partly also the valleys buses transport your bike, mountain bike or e-bike.
